What Do the Donkeys Represent?

         Pastor Kathy opened up her sermon with the allegory of how one could make someone else happy.

         First you take their donkey. Then you give it back.

         This has become the way of politics and how to become popular when elected. Only until recently it was limited to wealth.

         But the next Donkey episode was not about wealth. It was about safety and fear,

         Haven’t we been tested already, and hasn’t the results been what was wanted? How was our behavior with Covid 19? Did we all fall in line with the now known to be false six-foot rule? Did we hunker down in our homes when being outdoors in the sunshine was beneficial? Did we have our freedoms taken away, those granted to us under the Constitution?

         Since then, have we held those that lied to us accountable? How about those who withheld important information about deaths and disease caused by ‘vaccines?’

         The Covid 19 pandemic proved two important facts about our society. Many millions will give up all our freedoms due to fear, and we will not punish the criminals who perpetrated crimes that killed hundreds of thousands of our fellow citizens.

         Is the stage set for the next round of fear and the taking of our freedoms? Is one of the next freedoms to be taken away the right to vote, to assemble, and speak?

         In 1966 in “The Nation” magazine, Cloward & Priven described what was necessary to bring down a free society. Some of the steps are: bankrupt the country by over loading the social services system with legitimate needs. Make sure the currency loses its value through inflation, impoverishing the middle and lower classes. Yet another step is to have increased crime that seems to be unstoppable. Sow distrust in those that are trying to bring attention to what is actually happening.

         When a significant proportion of the population is in fear of losing all they have, come to the rescue and declare martial law. Explain that ‘democracy’ does not work, and have a welcomed overturning of the government that failed. The one that had freedom guaranteed.
